16' Key Largo Center Console Boat Detailing Class - Thursday, July 18th (http://www.marine31online.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78)

Thursday, July 18th, we will be detailing this 16' Key Largo Center Console Boat inside and out. I have not seen this boat in person yet so I do not know the exact condition but from the pictures it doesn't look too bad.

We have some new products to test out and this class will get a chance to test these product out before anyone else. At our last boat detailing class Max stopped by and gave everyone a free bottle of Marine 31 products and each person was able to choose the product they wanted. You never know when Max is going to stop by...

Here's the boat in its current condition, don't pay any attention the orange hot rod next to it...

After my buddy Mike dropped her off I gave her a real good look-over and for a boat built in 2007 this thing is in mint condition except for the normal oxidation which is actually pretty light.

Mike bought this because the original owner kept this boat stored inside their garage since it was purchased new. This has kept the boat out of the sun and in pristine condition.

Mike too has kept the boat stored inside since he's purchased it. Since I'm looking to buy a boat, I told Mike anytime he wants to let her go to let me know.

Since the oxidation isn't that bad and the scum staining isn't that bad, we're not going to use the brand new heavy cut cleaner/wax but instead we're going to follow the sage advice,

"Use the least aggressive product to get the job done"

Instead we're going to use the Marine 31 All-In-One Gel Coat Polish & Wax which is a light cleaner/wax perfect for a boat in this condition.

New Pad Introduction
We are going to test out a brand new pad from Lake Country specifically designed THIN for use with dual action polishers like the Porter Cable, Meguiar's and Griot's Garage dual action polishers.

Thinner pads rotate better than large, thick pads on dual action polishers like the Porter Cable "type" and this gives you more cleaning or abrading power to cut through oxidation.

So I'll let the guy test these pads out and tomorrow I'll post the after pictures...

Here she is after moving her into the garage...

My apologies for not making it out. I was leaving my neighborhood to head that way and an older lady ran a stop sign and took my front bumper off. On another note I'm having the body shop shoot the clear thicker so I can remove any orange peel if necessary.
