First Detail Project Attempt - Searay Outboard

Didn't realize how the gallery worked. Apologies for the multiple posts.
So I started my first detail project today. Got to the boat early and gave it a quick wash. Doing it is a favor for a friend who didn't mind letting me practice on his boat.

After the wash I started on the correction on the starboard side. Unfortunately it got up in the 90degF range and in direct sunlight the lubrication in the polishes started breaking down really fast causing dusting.
I spent a few hours playing around with orange and yellow foam cutting pads on the Makita 9227 with Meg's power compound and found it was taking several passes.

Knowing time was in short supply I jumped to the wool pads with the power cut compound. Cut through the oxidation quickly and I followed up with Meguiars all in one cleaner wax on using Porter cable 7424 using white ccs pad. I wanted to spend more time following up with polishing before jumping to wax, but due to the dust starting to kick up from the sunlight I had to cut it short.

I'll attach pictures of before and after pictures. Not sure how to attach more than one at a time, so I'll respond with a few posts. Also, I only focused on below the rubrail.

One more after. The more I used the Makita the easier it got. The main issue was I wanted to grip it at the top. Using the handle made it uncomfortable around some contours and I wasn't a big fan of the handle the came with it.
