If you have non-skid surfaces to clean, clean these after polishing the metal and then wash the boat, you'll wash away all the metal polishing residue and any cleaners and dirt from cleaning the non-skid surfaces. Then finish out by washing the boat from the highest portions first working down.

That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up. I was trying to make a list of the order I should do things in to be most effective with my time.
